WARATAH represents the type and style of launch built by A.G. Williams of Drummoyne NSW in the late 1930s.
DescriptionWARATAH was built in 1938. A.G.Williams yard was in St Georges Crescent at Drummoyne and along with the Halvorsens and Holmes they were also well known for their fine motor launches and cruisers.

It is understood that WARATAH was built for the navy as a harbour patrol boat. It is quite possible that the craft performed war service duties around Sydney during the 2nd World War but no documentation has been found to confirm this. Its other use has been as a private motor cruiser, and it was previously known as the INCA SUN before 2000.

The 10.6 metre long hull is planked in Huon pine and this remains in very good condition. The hull, superstructure and interior have all recently undergone repairs and restoration to ensure WARATAH remains operational for many more years to come. The styling of the superstructure and windows are very typical of a Williams’ design.
